c telesdopic drum pen rod fishing

Bought several of these for my dad. He likes them a lot. We have a creek that runs by our house, and my dad does a lot of fishing there. He's caught small mouth bass, rock bass, creek chubs, sucker fish, carp, rainbow and speckled trout, all with this rod. Just average size fish you would catch out of a creek. No monsters, though there are some monster carp that will snap your line in no time. Or take your rod in the water if you have it set up on rod holder. I'm not a fisher, but I do on occasion go with him. And from my experience of using these rods, they are durable. And perfect for getting into hard places along the creek. Since I'm not a fisherman, I really can't go into detail about these pen rods, but from what my dad says, they are perfect for doing some light fishing. So I'll take his word for it. And they are good for teaching children how to fish too. So if your looking for a small set up that's strong, these might work for you. And the price is way better than buying one of those starter poles for kids at a store that can run close to $40 dollars.

I love stuff I love cheap weird unique stuff and this fits right in the category as a fan of fishing I’ve been fishing for about 30 years now and when I saw this I was like this is just dumb enough to be awesome . So here’s the breakdown Haven’t had a chance to fish with it but I’ve looked it over well.

The reel: it’s construction is out of metal on the base and plastic on the line housing. Comes with terrible line on it but that’s no big deal. It functions just like a decent reel you’d find

The rod: it’s a telescopic rod with very little eyes so it can fit in the pen cap housing. It’s flexible and light. Feels like pretty cheap construction but it works well. My only real concern is that the eyes are so small it’s gonna be hard to cast bar with anything above a 6 pound test but I put 10 pounds on it anyways because that’s all I had.

Overall it’s cute little fun rod and reel. It would be great for bluegill or crappy fishing it’s essentially an ultralight rod. I think that this would be a great little rod and reel combo to keep in the glove box or trunk in case you come across a pond you can use it to just throw and see what’s there and then come back with real equipment later.

Really happy with this little rod! I bought it because it seemed so easy to just throw in a bag and take anywhere for a quick line drop. I replaced the mono it came with with 15lb braid, and made my own mono leaders. I decided to try for some big cats in the river near my house to test it out and see if it was “CCC” (Cheap Chinese Crap) or if I could actually take it biking and hiking etc and catch more than bait fish. Well it held up really well so far on two big cats! I wear a size 8 shoe, the largest cat was over 14”. it’s a very small hold in the palm of your hand reel so you can’t put a lot of line on it to cast (the braid helped), but it casted well. Nice action. It’s a cute and very useable gift and I plan on beating this thing up on every camping or kayaking trip I go on. Only downfall is the eyes are so small, you’ll have to take your hook and leader on and off every time you want to put it away fully. I left the reel on and still managed to cap it with it’s little cap. ❤️

I love fishing and I love travelling. Most of the time, I don't have the opportunity to bring any of my primary fishing gear when I go on vacation. So this little item looked like the perfect solution to just throw in a backpack or duffel and break it out when you find a cool little spot. And frankly, it does that really well. The 1.4M pen rod was a little bigger than I expected but it's still better than most other collapsible rod options out there. Reel felt decent and it was pre-spooled with neon green line. I can only assume it's 2# mono.

This product is perfect for my application. It is bigger and sturdier than I expected. I am unable to prove its durability but am satisfied with it at present. I bought it specifically because of its size and portability. It is my 'backup' rig I carry in my kayak in case I have failure while out on the river. For the money and the portability it will save me a trip back to the truck. For the cost I will not cry too loud if I were to capsize and it should rest forever in Davy Jones' Locker. Its bright color will even assist in rescue should it go swimming in the skinny waters I fish.
